About Ananya Bevinakatti

My first and foremost source of inspiration and influence is the community and the cultures that I am immersed in. Being brought up in India, England and now residing in the USA, I have been submerged in equally strong and often contradicting principles, lifestyles and traditions. The need to find my own balance between conflicting ideologies ultimately instigated the curiosity to study and question the ethos that has shaped me thus far. Observing and interrogating specific avenues in question within both communities has undoubtedly brought to light many disheartening truths, but it has also given me a heightened appreciation for proactive countervailing reactions. Through my work, I strive to not only create an awareness of these ‘issues’ but to do so in an intriguing, thought provoking and elegant manner.
